Beginning in early 2022, the City of Langford's Attainable Home Ownership Program will provide qualified homebuyers with up to 75% of their down payment to purchase a 2-bedroom condo in Langford.

How do I apply?

The application portal will open in early 2022. As part of your application, you will need to prove you have been pre-approved for a mortgage of at least $450,000. You can obtain a mortgage Pre-Approval by clicking here

Can I get a pet friendly unit?

Yes! The City of Langford has secured units within pet-friendly condominium complexes, so bring your furry friends along!

Are any other housing types available?

This pilot program is focused on providing eligible applicants the opportunity to purchase two-bedroom condo units. Future phases may include the purchase of studios, one bedroom and three bedroom units.

Are co-signers allowed?

Yes. If you are having difficulty getting pre-approved for the minimum mortgage amount of $450,000 you can have a co-signer added to your mortgage application to help you get pre-approved. The co-signer does not need to live in the purchased property with you.

If I purchase through the program, can I rent the unit out?

No. Your purchase agreement will prohibit any renting out of the unit for the first five-years of ownership.

What is the definition of an "eligible dependent"?

An eligible dependent is considered a cohabitating unmarried child under 18 years of age, or a cohabitating unmarried child, sibling, parent or spouse with a permanent mobility impairment or disability
